A Warm Welcome at Studio Czułość: My Visit to a New Pilates Studio in Katowice, Poland

Studio Czułość pilates studio in Katowice

Some places make you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. For me, that has a lot to do with the people. How they greet you, whether they listen, how comfortable you feel asking a question. At the opening of Studio Czułość, a Pilates studio in Katowice, southern Poland, I felt looked after from the very first moment.

The opening took place on 5 September 2026. I went along for an introductory Pilates session and a look around. While I waited for my turn, I was offered a coffee. A small thing, perhaps, but a nice start.

A Little Tenderness Goes a Long Way

The studio’s name, Czułość, is Polish for “tenderness”. After meeting the team, I could see why they chose it.

Every instructor I spoke to was friendly and attentive. I felt they listened to what I had to say. That matters to me, especially somewhere new, when I’m still getting to know the people and working out how comfortable I feel.

Here, I relaxed quite quickly.

My instructor was Justyna. Our introductory session was for a small group of beginners, which gave us a chance to ease into the exercises. But first, we spent some time on breathing.

Starting with the Breath

I really liked that Justyna began with diaphragmatic breathing. It’s easy to get caught up in what your arms and legs should be doing and give very little thought to your breath. So I appreciated taking a moment to focus on it before moving on.

Throughout the session, Justyna asked how we were feeling and whether the movements felt okay. She listened to our answers and adapted the exercises when needed.

That was the part I particularly liked. We were in a group, but there was still room for individual attention. I felt comfortable saying if something didn’t suit me.

For someone trying a reformer for the first time, I think that kind of atmosphere can make the whole experience feel more approachable.

Room to Move, with Views of the Park

The studio is at 111 Chorzowska Street, next to the Silesia City Center shopping centre. It occupies the first floor — one level above the ground floor — and looks out over the city on one side and a park on two others.

The interior and equipment are brand new. Everything looks fresh, but what stood out to me most was how much space there is.

The reformers, the Pilates machines with sliding carriages, are set far enough apart that I didn’t have to worry about catching another person with my arm or leg. The instructors also have room to walk between them and check on everyone.

It sounds like a small practical detail. When you’re exercising, though, it makes a difference. You can concentrate on the movement without keeping an eye on how close your neighbour is.

And I liked the greenery outside. Being close to a major shopping centre, you might expect the view to be all buildings and traffic. Having the park there was a lovely surprise.

Coffee, Conversation and a Rooftop Gathering

There was time to enjoy the opening beyond the workout itself. Coffee was available throughout, along with water, sweet and savoury snacks, and desserts prepared for the occasion.

Later, we headed up to a terrace on the seventh floor for a get-together with alcohol-free sparkling wine. A lovely way to finish the day.

The refreshments and terrace gathering were part of the opening celebrations. I mention them because they added to the feeling of being welcomed and included. A coffee while waiting, a conversation, some time together after the session. Those are the details I tend to remember.

Would I Recommend It?

Yes. Particularly if you value attentive teaching and a warm, personal connection with the people guiding you.

Before trying somewhere new, you might wonder whether you’ll keep up, whether you can ask for help or whether an exercise can be adjusted for you. My session with Justyna left me feeling comfortable with all of those things.

This was one visit, during the opening. I haven’t tried every class or trained with every instructor. But I enjoyed the session, felt at ease in the space and came away with a very positive impression of the team.

Tenderness is quite a promise to put above the door. From my experience that day, the name felt right.

Classes and Training Options

For anyone considering a visit, Studio Czułość’s published programme includes:

  • Group Reformer and Tower classes: Pilates sessions at different experience levels, using reformers and towers. A tower is a frame fitted with springs and bars that provide resistance and support during exercises.
  • Duet sessions: Training for two people, using the studio’s Pilates and strength-training equipment.
  • Private sessions: One-to-one training tailored to your goals, abilities and limitations, with appointment times arranged individually.

For beginners, the studio recommends Pilates Reformer INTRO or Reformer/Tower classes marked “Wszystkie poziomy”, which means “All Levels” in Polish. These are the names to look for in the booking timetable.

The website and class names are in Polish. If you need instruction in English, contact the studio before booking to check availability.
